British Food & Farming Fortnight

This event runs starts on the 18th September and on the Friday 24th September we will be celebrating great British Food at our Market. There will be lots available, with some samples to try before you buy. All our produce is grown or sourced as locally as possible. So come along and let us all help celebrate Britains wonderful food.

Summer passes

Well here we on the fringes of Autumn already - where did that time go? The market has received many overseas visitors this year, especially from Scandinavia, but with the usual mixture of Australians and Japanese, but only a few from the USA this year.

The close of the summer also sees the leaving of one of our longest serving members, Julie Gardner, who has been baking for over 25 years for the market. During her time with us Julie has served as The Controller (position now known as Market Manager), as well as on the general committee and I for one will sorely miss her special fruit cakes.



We would like to all wish Julie well and hope she will manage to find the time to pop along for a visit.

Easter!

Well it is nearly Easter and we would like to remind all our friends and customers that we will NOT be open on Good Friday, but will be open from 2.00pm - 3.30pm on Maundy Thursday which is the 1st April.

This is no April fool - we never open on Good friday. So don't delay order your Simnel Cakes and other goodies as soon as possible. Telephone number above.

Our Last Market of 2009

Today was our last market of 2009 and now all our members have a well earned rest for the month of January. We would like to say a big thank you to all our clientele and visitors to the market and all that remains is to wish you all a Merry Christmas and we look forward to a Happy New Year and to welcome you all back on the 5th February 2010.ps. Don't forget you can place an order in January ready for the 5th Feb pick up.

End of Season Markets

We will continue to put out various items for you to taste during the run up to Christmas, so please order once you have made your choice to ensure you get what you want, when you want. Don't forget Boxing Day!

Our last markets of 2009 will be on Friday 18th December and Tuesday 22nd December

We will not be back until Friday 5th february 2010 so remember to stock up your freezer for January.

Our Taster Day

Our Friday Taster Day hopefully was a great success. Many people sampled some of the tempting items on offer and then either placed orders or took away an order form to bring back another week. As the Christmas period is hetic for all our producers, both for the market but also on a personal basis we do ask our customers to place their orders as soon as possible, especially if they require Christmas cakes or puddings or rich fruit cakes as these do take some preparation and of course are more tasty if made in advance with time to mature before cutting into and eating!!
