Warm Start, Chilly End - to April

Both our Market Members & our Customers & Visitors alike don't seem to know whether to turn up in their shorts or their long johns this month! But with the May Bank Holiday weekend on it's way, let us hope the sun is here to stay.
This picture was taken overlooking The Vale of Evesham, which is just the otherside of the escarpment from Chipping Campden. Everything just springing into life and just like our market, there are always new things to see and try.

Why not pay us a visit this Friday, when the Maypole dancers will be in the square.

14 December 2014

It's nearly Christmas!

Well I know we haven't had any snow yet so this is just wishful thinking on my part, but it does make the Lower Town Hall look pretty & sort of festive.

Anyway Friday the 19th is our big morning, we have lots of orders to be boxed or bagged up ready for collection. We have asked our customers not to arrive until after 9.30 as we need this length of time to get everything in place.

I know quite a few of us will be wearing something Christmassy and when we finish at about 11.30, it's over the road for coffees to celebrate another year over for the Market.

For those of you reading this who have suddenly forgotten to put in your order, there will be a few bits & pieces available to buy on Friday, but if you want to be really safe, then as long as you ring by noon onTuesday 16th, then we may be able to help out - see our number up to the right.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone and we hope to see you all again on Friday 6/2/2015 when we re open for business.

Shop Campden Friday 10/5

Chipping Campden Country Market kicked off the shop Campden Day. This is a promotion to shop locally; shop in Campden. On a use it or loose it basis.

The main event followed in the afternoon including a black out of windows to show how the town would look without these shops - terrible!

The theme was yellow & green (see pic) and there were fun events for the rest of the day.

Wonderful weather!

Well aren't we the lucky ones - beautiful weather; plants growing; trees coming into blossom and for us here at Chipping Campden, visitors coming to the town and calling in at the market.

CC is a place that has for many years been on the tourist circuit, whether they be from abroad or just some where else in the UK.

Sometimes they just come in as they are curious as to what we are about and have a chat, whilst other times they make purchases, which all go to help our overall takings.

Why ever they call in, we are always pleased to see them and ask them to tell all their friends - who knows one of them may just buy something to take home.

08 April 2013

Well, after the last few months at The Lygon Arms, we are now back at the refurbished Lower Town Hall in the heart of Chipping Campden.

Our grateful thanks goes to Sandra and her team for their hospitality during our enforced stay, but it's good be back.

Many thanks also to all our regular customers who travelled to the other end of town to continue shopping with us, in spite of the chilly and sometimes snowy weather.

It was also good to see that some not so local still paid us a visit when they saw our banner.

Over the next few months we will be profiling some of our new producers and we hope that you will come and try....and buy their wares.

So as they say -  "watch this space"!

Don't forget - It's homemade & locally sourced

Here at the Country Market in Chipping Campden, we are creators of fresh, home made and home cooked, sweet and savoury items. Any pork used is from our Lady pig farmer with beef and chicken supplied from within the Gloucestershire area.

Fresh vegetables used are generally local and any other ingredients tend to be British sourced if at all possible.

The Country Markets, throughout England & Wales, have always been renowned for keeping food as local as possible and we at Chipping Campden are no exception.

We are at all times willing to answer questions about any of the produce that we sell – Remember everything is definitely what it says on the package!
